Additional Funding and Resource Announcements
The City Fund Update.
If you missed the briefing on the implementation of The City Fund (commonly known as
the One City Fund) held on June 26 you can join The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region mailing list atinfo@cfncr.org
to receive more detailed information. Although the name of the $15 million fund has changed, the purpose remains the same: to assist non-profit organizations in providing direct services to District residents and families in the areas of education, job training, health, senior services, arts, public safety, and the environment through a competitive and transparent grant process.
The Community Foundation will share information regarding the fund as it comes available.
In the meantime visit their website for updates:www.thecommunityfoundation.org
Do You Need Free Legal Help?
The D.C. Bar’s Community Economic Development Project (CED) is offering free
legal help. Its mission is to help nonprofit organizations in obtaining pro bono legal counsel. The CED Project provides help in such areas as corporate governance, contract review, government grant compliance and real estate, employment and tax law. Its services are free.
If your organization: is a charitable, religious, community or educational organization;
provides direct services to persons of limited means living in the District of Columbia; and
the payment of legal fees would significantly deplete your organization's ability to provide services; then your organization is eligible for assistance.
For more information about the program contact Lauren Paley at 202-737-4700, x3357 or
lpaley@dcbar.org
.
For more information about CED visit
http://www.dcbar.org/ced
As you can see there are many different funding opportunities and resources available.
I would love to hear from you, if you or someone you know works for a community, faith-based, and or non-profit organization what type of resources and funding are you looking for? Do you have information or resources that you would like to share? Leave it in the comments below, and let me know.
Have a blessed day!
